Equator Pricing Update – July 2025

We’re writing to let you know that Equator’s pricing plans will change in July 2025. We’re introducing a new structure that’s simpler, more predictable, and better aligned with how you actually use Equator.

Background

We’ve listened to you about what’s working

  • Exploring multiple sites: Many of you value the ability to explore multiple sites and datasets each month, especially in early project stages.
  • Flexibility: Others appreciate the flexibility of pay-per-site pricing for occasional or one-off projects.

We’ve also heard from you about what’s not working

  • Data Credits in MB: Our current system uses monthly data credit limits based on file size (MB), but not all data is created equal. Products like DEMs are much larger than others (like contours), which means one large file can quickly max out your monthly credit limit. That’s frustrating, and we agree it needs to change.
  • Parcel limits: Parcel limits often don’t align with the site boundaries, and you’re not getting the data you need very easily.

What We Considered

We explored moving to industry-standard per km² pricing. But after analyzing the impact, we realized it wouldn’t be fair. Some data exports would cost over $1,000, while others just a few dollars, regardless of the value delivered to you.

This kind of variability would disproportionately affect customers working on larger, early-stage site assessments and studies, where budgets are often tight. That’s not the kind of experience we want to offer.

Our Commitment to You

We’re committed to keeping Equator affordable, transparent, and tailored to your needs. This pricing update is designed to remove surprise charges and confusing data credit systems, while giving you more control and flexibility.

New Pricing Plans

What’s Changed in July 2025

Subscriptions:

  • The $30 per month plan will be retired.
  • The Basic Subscription ($67 per month) will include elevation data for 5 sites per month, with unlimited exports.
  • The Plus Subscription ($109 per month) will include elevation and parcel data for 8 sites per month, with unlimited exports.
  • The Pro Subscription ($169 per month) will include elevation, parcel, and image data for 15 sites per month.

Annual Subscription Benefits:

If you choose to pay annually:

  • Site credits are pooled for the entire year. For example, with the Basic plan, you’ll have access to 60 sites total across the year.
  • A 10% annual discount is applied automatically.
  • Additional promotional discounts may be offered from time to time.

Pay-per-use Pricing:

  • Pay-per-use pricing ($30 per site) will include access to all data products and unlimited exports for the site.

How This Will Affect You

For some of you, this change will mean an increase in monthly cost, and that’s not something we take lightly. However, we’ve worked hard to ensure Equator remains one of the most affordable options in the industry. While it’s common to pay over $100 for a single dataset elsewhere, Equator gives you unlimited exports per site, plus powerful tools that save you hours of manual work converting data into the formats and coordinate systems that you need.

Many customers have told us they save thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars each year with Equator. We’re truly grateful for that trust, and we’re committed to continuing to deliver value that far exceeds the cost.

How the Transition Will Work

When you log into Equator in July 2025 (after the changes have been rolled out), you’ll see a notification about the new pricing. You’ll be prompted to select the plan that best fits your needs going forward before the end of your current billing cycle.

Rest assured, you won’t be charged under the new pricing until you return to the platform and choose your preferred plan.

Why This Matters for the Future of Equator

Your continued support will allow us to reinvest in new and important initiatives:

  1. Improved customer support
  2. Faster, more reliable data access
  3. Expanding the data that is available in the platform

This update helps us build a stronger Equator, for your team and for the industry.

Final Thoughts

If the New Pricing Doesn’t Work for You

We understand not every plan will be a perfect fit for everyone. That’s why we’ve kept flexible options:

  • Take advantage of our July 2025 promotion – 30% off an annual subscription for those transitioning from a monthly subscription.
  • Stick with pay-per-site access at $30 per site—no subscription required
  • Join our referral program to earn discounts on your monthly subscription

We’re here to support a range of needs and budgets, and we’ll work with you to find the best fit.

Thank You

We’re incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Equator community! Every improvement we make, from better data access to stronger support, is possible because of your trust and feedback.

As we roll out this new model, our mission stays the same: to make Equator the fastest, easiest, and most cost-effective way to get the site data you need—whenever and wherever you need it.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always here to help.
